David Colon Hancock

David Colon "Dave" Hancock, age 62, of 277 Cheyenne Circle, Asheboro died Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 210 Oakgrove Rd., Asheboro with Rev. Billy Self officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard Mr. Hancock was a native of Durham County, was retired from The Courier-Tribune, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Dave was an avid antique car lover, loved spending time at Lake Tillery with his grandchildren, and loved spending time with his dogs. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Lucas Hancock; sons, David Colon Hancock, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC; Christopher R. Hancock and his wife Melissa of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Brittany Hancock and Kyndal Hancock; brother, Sam Hancock of Asheboro, NC; and sister, Pat Young of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of Chris Hancock, 1502 Skeen View Rd., Asheboro.
