John "Johnny" H McCaskill

John "Johnny" H. McCaskill, age 89, of 326 Bowman Rd., Candor, formerly of Biscoe, died Friday, February 13, 2009 at his home.Mr. McCaskill was born May 31, 1919 in Montgomery County, NC, the son of William and Minnie (Lomax) McCaskill. He was a member of Long Hill Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Springs Mills and a US Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma H. McCaskill. He is survived by two daughters: Elizabeth (Ann) Haywood of Biscoe, Cindy Thompson of Southern Pines; two sons: Lee McCaskill of Asheboro, Sam McCaskill of Biscoe; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home of Sam McCaskill, 1227 Cotton Creek Rd., Biscoe. The funeral will be Monday at 10:30 am at Long Hill Baptist Church, 637 Capelsie Rd, Candor with Pastor Larry Beaver officiating. Burial will be in Biscoe Cemetery, Biscoe, NC.
