Callie Spencer Stephens Hylton, age 85, of 500 Mountain Top Dr., Asheboro died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Calvary United Methodist Church, 1814 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro with Rev. G. Frances Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.Mrs. Hylton was a native of Stokes County, NC and was retired from Acme-McCrary Corporation. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Faithful Workers Sunday School class. In addition to her parents, William H. and Mable Martin Spencer, Callie was preceded in death by her husbands, William Cecil Stephens and William Hylton, her sisters, Beulah Madison and Mary Anderson, and her brothers, Edgar Spencer and Buddy Spencer. She is survived by her sons, Bill Stephens and his wife Sharon of Rocky Mount, NC, Phillip C. Stephens and his partner Joseph Davidson of New Castle, DE; daughter, Claudette Brady and her husband Worth of Asheboro, NC; stepdaughters, Jean Hinesley and her husband Steve of Randleman, NC, Beth Hardin and her husband Gary of Randleman, NC; granddaughter, Caroline Roberts and her husband Steven of Seattle, WA; great grandchildren, Beyer Roberts and Jackson Roberts; sisters, Betty Copple and her husband Joe of Asheboro, NC and Bonita Campbell and her husband Bill of Asheboro, NCThe family will receive friends on Friday, January 16, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of Claudette and Worth Brady, 213 W. Beasley St., Asheboro. Memorials may be made to the Calvary United Methodist Church Maintenance Fund, 1814 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203 or Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009.The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Clapps's Convalescent Nursing Home and to Dr. Sopala for the care given to Callie during the past 5 years.
