Elbridge Reid Craig, Sr., age 85, of 450 Mountain Top Dr., Asheboro died Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 21, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church, 420 West Walker Ave., Asheboro with Rev. Connie Weaver and Rev. Paul Ridolfi officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the dining room of the Clapp's Mountain Top Residential Apartments. Mr. Craig was born in Cramerton, NC, the son of Elbridge Miller and Iva Ford Craig. He was a veteran of World War II and an Eagle Scout. He was a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta. He was retired from Burlington Industries after 37 years as Manager of Information Systems for the Klopman Division. Mr. Craig was a member of First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years serving as a Deacon, Elder and Church Treasurer. He was a Trustee at Glade Valley School and was a member and Past President of the Randolph Golden Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife, Marian Martin Craig; daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Billy Moore of Cary, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Reid and Kay Craig of Farmer, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Ginger Craig of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Billy, Tim And Chris Moore of Cary, NC; step grandchildren, Frankie Curtis of Pleasant Garden, NC, Lisa McDowell of Denton, NC, and Charlotte "Tweetie" Davis of Greensboro, NC; step great grandchildren, Tabitha and Brandon Curtis of Farmer, NC and Emmitt Edwards of Greensboro, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Sarah And Dorsey Beamer of Galax, VA; brother and sister-in-law, Don And Peggy Craig of Deltona, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Endowment, 420 West Walker Ave., Asheboro, NC 27203 or Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009. The family would like to express a special thanks to caregivers Wanda Stout, Patsy Newsome, Wilo Dean Powell, Shirl Little and Hospice of Randolph for the special care given to Mr. Craig during his illness.
