George Tuny Hughes

George Tuny Hughes, age 62, of 3235 Shady Forest Rd., Randleman died Thursday, September 18, 2008 at his home in Randleman. Mr. Hughes was born July 16, 1946 in Asheboro, NC the son of George and Alene Spencer Hughes. Mr. Hughes was a native of Randolph County, U.S Army veteran serving in Germany and Korea and was a 30 year safe driver at UPS where he retired. He was active member of the NRA, he loved his family very much and his grandchildren held a special place in his heart. George enjoyed attending the grandchildren's ball games and school activities. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening and being outside. He is survived by his wife: Verda Powell Hughes; Son, Brian and his wife, Annie Hughes of Randleman, son, Anthony and his wife, Sonya Hughes of Denton, grandchildren, Garren and Karley Hughes of Denton, two sisters: Orphia Brown of Asheboro, and Mary Laughlin of Greensboro, and two brothers: Bobby Culler and Timothy Hughes both of Asheboro, The family will receive friends Saturday, September 20, 2008 immediately following the memorial service at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC.
