Daisy Leona Gardner

Daisy Leona Varner Gardner, age 77, of 368 Starr Ct., Asheboro died Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Randolph Hospital,Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 3:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in Hammer Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Gilead. Mrs. Gardner was a native of Randolph County, was retired from Pinehurst Textiles, and attended Amity Hills Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dock Gardner, her parents, Roby Franklin and Annie Jackson Varner, her sister, Beulah Mae Roberson, and her brother, Roby Buck Varner. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Moffitt and her husband Rex of Asheboro, NC and nephew, Jimmy Dean Varner of Trinity, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 14, 2008 from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Asheboro Baptist Church, 831 Uwharrie St., Asheboro, NC 27203.
