Heaven got a new Angel, Audrey Cashatt Lineberger "Maw" of 421 East Brown St., Randleman, departed from her family to rejoice with the Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2008 at her home with her family and friends by her side. Audrey was born January 8, 1928 to Eunice Blake Presnell and W. Avery Hester. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William Lineberger. Audrey left behind many loved ones. Daughter, Sherry Cashatt Fonner and husband Bill of Randleman. Sons, Ronald Gray Cashatt of Pleasant Garden and Gary Lee Dashatt of Bennett, Daughter Mary Britt Byrd of Randleman. Grandchildren Misty Hinshaw Hatch and husband Marty of pleasant Garden, David Holt Hinshaw III of Randleman, Matthew Philip Cashatt of the home, Zachary Gray Cashatt and Andrea Blake Cashatt of Pleasant Garden, and Thomas Robery Burd stationed in Ft. Benning, Ga. Two great grandchildren, Gray Holt Braica (Hatch) and Carly Simon Hatch of Pleasant Garden. Audrey was employed as Asst. Clerk of Court in the 1950s and was appointed Post Master in Randleman at age 28. She taught at UNC Chapel Hill, Duke University, and was Asst. Dean of Nursing at A&T University. Audrey was a remarkable woman. She was a member of Crosspoint Baptist Church where she was baptized by Pastor Scott Walker. She always saw good in everyone and the glass was always half full. She loved her family and friends with all of her heart. She also loved animals and was an avid supporter of North Shore Animal League. She loved mining for gems and traveling the world. Mostly she loved taking care of Gray and Carly. They called her "Mial" and were her shiniest stars. The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home in Randleman Wednesday, August 13, 2008 from 7-9 pm. Funeral will be at New Salem United Methodist Church on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 3:00pm with Rev. Tim Fonner and Rev. Scott Walker officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
