June Shaw

Mrs. Ella June Shaw passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008 after a short Illness at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro. . The funeral will be Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 11:00 at First United Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St, Randleman. The Reverend Martha Welch will officiate assisted by Reverend Dr. Dana Bunn. Interment will follow the service at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro. Mrs. Shaw was born in San Antonio, Texas to Byron and Ella Bayer Boldt. She and her family later moved to Victoria, Texas where she met Mr. Shaw in1955 while he was serving in the Air Force. After finishing his tour in the Air Force, he returned to North Carolina where the couple married in 1956. Together with her husband, Mrs. Shaw helped make Shaw Furniture Galleries one of the most successful furniture stores in the state. Many organizations have benefited from Mrs. Shaws generosity. Over the years, she supported Randolph Community College, Randolph Hospital, Hospice and Victory Junction. Most recently, Mrs. Shaw worked closely with others in a capital campaign to renovate and revitalize the First United Methodist Church in Randleman. Mrs. Shaw is survived by her husband: Sherrill W. Shaw; son and daughter in law: Roger and Lori Shaw of Jamestown, NC; grandchildren: Casey, Carter and Sadie also of Jamestown; sister: Dee Lindley of San Antonio, TX; and an aunt: Frances Henke of Victoria, TX. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Kaye. The family will receive friends Monday, July 21, 2008 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC.
