FannieBelle Whitley

FannieBelle Phillips Whitley, 95, of Asheboro died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro. Mrs. Whitley, widow of Roy J. Whitley, was a native of Moore County. She was a former employee of McCrary Hosiery and retired co-owner of Balfour Supermarket. Mrs. Whitley is survived by a brother, Talmadge Phillips of Asheboro, NC; sisters, Mrs. Allene Hightower of Charleston, SC, and Mrs. Dee Warren of Glendon, NC and numerous nephews and nieces and their families. The family will receive visitors at First Baptist Church, Asheboro, where she was a longtime active member, on Saturday, July 19 at 10 am followed by Funeral services at 11:00 am with Dr. John S. Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro.
