Paul Thurman Craven, age 95, of 719 Spencer Ave., Asheboro died Sunday, September 16, 2007 at his home.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 18,2007 at 2:00 PM at Asheboro United Church of Christ, 801 Sunset Ave., Asheboro with Rev. Tom Benedict and Rev. Carol Smith Dyson officiating. Burial with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mr. Craven was born in Climax,NC, and was an US Army veteran of World War ll. He was a member of American Legion Post 45 and VFW Post 1159. He was a charter member of Asheboro United Church of Christ and owned and operated The Little Castle for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Stout Craven.
He is survived by one son, Steve Craven and his wife, Sue of Asheboro; grand daughter, Kim Gallimore and her husband, Jeff of Denton, grandson; Chad Craven and his wife, Heather of Asheboro, four great grandchildren; Samantha, Kaila, Cole and Jake, one brother: Sherman Craven of Asheboro and one sister; Veola Hanner of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 17, 2007 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro.
