Howard Calvin Strider

Howard Calvin Strider, of Asheboro, NC died Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 16, 2007at Randolph Memorial Park Asheboro with Rev. Marion Smith officiating. Mr. Strider was a native of Randolph County and attended Neighbor's Grove Wesleyan Church. He owned and operated Strider's Grocery, Strider's Trailer Park and was a partner in S & M Mobile Home Movers. Mr. Strider was preceded in death by his wife, Zada Purvis Strider. He is survived by daughters and their husbands, Hilda and Doug Smith, Phyllis and Ray Williams all of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Jamie Weston, James Murray and Todd Smith all of Asheboro, NC and Elizabeth Olig of Minneapolis, MN; 8 great grandchildren; sisters: Inez Jennings and Alta Mae Laughlin both of Asheboro, NC and brother, John Roy Strider of Asheboro, NC. The daughters will receive friends at their homes at 1939 Willow Rd., Asheboro or 113 E. Central Ave., Asheboro. Memorials may be made to Randolph County Senior Adults Association, Meals on Wheels, 133 W. Wainman Ave., Asheboro, NC 27203 or charity of donor's choice.
