Obituary of Rev. Richard C. Hill

Rev. Richard Charles Hill, age 86, of Asheboro died Saturday, September 11, 2021 at his home.

Richard was born November 14, 1934 the son of Paul R. and Hazel Owens Hill.

Richard was a native of Randolph County and had served in the 82nd Airborne Unit of the US Army from 1954-1962. He was the founder of United Missionary Church of Ramseur, NC and served as its pastor for 58 years. He also worked at GE/Black and Decker in Asheboro for 50 years. He enjoyed taking cruises and other travel and enjoyed Blue Grass Gospel Music. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years: Alice Brower Hill; sons: Charles A. (Betty Jo) Hill of Pembroke, NC; Charles B. (Jennifer) Hill of Franklinville, NC; daughters: Dorothy Lynne Hill of Ramseur, NC; Teresa (Terry) Bailey of Randleman, NC; Sandra (Tony) Maness of Asheboro, NC; Barbara (Keelan) Smart of Greensboro, NC; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are: three sisters: Carolyn Allred of Asheboro, NC, JoAnne Davis of Asheboro, NC, and Linda (Roger) Ritter of Asheboro, NC, and four brothers: Kenneth (Anna) Hill of Asheboro, NC, Glenn Hill of Asheboro, NC, Tommy (Gail) Hill of Riverton WY, and Terry (Drema) Hill of Asheboro, NC,

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 11:00 - 12:45 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will follow at 1:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Bailey and Rev. Sandra Maness officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
