Clarence Edward "Ed" Smith, age 76, of 571 Brookwood Dr., Asheboro died Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Outen officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.Mr. Smith was a native of Asheboro, NC, was formerly employed with United Brass Works, and was a member of West Chapel United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Seagraves Smith; sister, Jane S. Campbell of Charlotte, NC; brother, David Smith of Fredericksburg, VA; nephews, Larry Paul Seagraves of Bessemer City, NC and James Seagraves of Asheboro, NC.The family will receive friends on Friday, November 27, 2009 from 12:00 noon-1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
