Kenneth Ray Trogdon, age 83, of 5977 High Pine Church Road, Asheboro died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation of Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 11:00 AM at High Pine Wesleyan Church, 4492 High Pine Church Rd., Asheboro with Rev. Wyatt Hoogkamp and Rev. George Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Trogdon was a native of the Pisgah area of Randolph County and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Theatre. He was retired from Energizer Battery Plant #1 after 30+ years of service. He was a member of High Pine Wesleyan Church where he was currently a Sunday School teacher for the Bible Sunday School class, was a past board member, and served as church treasurer for 30 years. Kenneth was a member of American Legion Post #45. He is survived by his wife, Ola Lanier Trogdon of the home; daughter, Ruth Crotts and her husband Donald of Asheboro, NC; sons, Boyd Trogdon and his wife Wanda of Asheboro, NC; Glenn Trogdon and his wife Diane of Asheboro, NC; Bruce Trogdon of Asheboro, NC; granddaughters, Beth Allen and her husband Richard of Asheboro, NC; Kerri Smith and her husband Roger of Star, NC; grandsons, Nathan Crotts of Asheboro, NC; Eric Crotts and his wife Camille of Charleston, SC; Matthew Trogdon of Asheboro, NC; great grandchildren, Skylee Mae Smith and Colson Allen. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at his home. Memorials may be made to High Pine Wesleyan Church, 4492 High Pine Church Rd., Asheboro, NC 27205.
