William Walter "Junior" Ellison, Jr

William Walter Ellison, Jr, age 69, of Sophia died Saturday, May 22, 2021 at his home. Born in Smith County, VA, Junior was the son of William Walter Ellison, Sr and Sara Catherine Catron Ellison. A Truck Driver by profession, he drove for Tipton Trucking for over thirty years. He was a member of South Plainfield Friends Meeting. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother William Henry Ellison. The family wishes express their gratitude to Hospice of Randolph and especially to nurses Maddie and Rene who helped take care of Junior. He is survived by his wife: Margaret Louise Williams Ellison, one daughter: Erin Dannette (Chris) Thornton of Princeton, WV and two sons: Arthur Junior (Sonya) Ellison of Statesville, NC and William Michael (Charmion) Ellison of Asheboro, NC, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; two sisters: Elizabeth Deaton of MD and Sue Ellison of VA, and one brother: Bud Ellison of VA. The family will receive friends Monday, May 24, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will be Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 2:00 pm at South Plainfield Friends Meeting, 4033 Plainfield Road, Sophia with Rev. Hugh C. Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow in the Meeting Cemetery.
