Reverend Jim Gary Richardson, age 77, of Randleman, went home to be with his Lord
on Saturday, March 27, 2021. He passed away at his home, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born on April 16, 1943, to Glenn Sam Richardson and Faye Coleen Honeycutt
Richardson.
Jim was a native of Randleman, a member of First Baptist Church of Randleman, and a
proud U.S Army veteran having served during the Vietnam Era. Rev. Jim Richardson
had the honor to pastor churches in Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina
throughout his ministry.
Jim is survived by his wife: Peggy Trogdon Richardson; son: Gary Elwood Richardson
and daughter in law, Anna of Sophia; daughter: Vickie Marlene Richardson of Snow
Camp; four grandchildren: Danny Richardson, Savannah Richardson, Marlenea Walker,
and Peggy Esquivel; six great-grandchildren: Daniela, Andrea, and Daniel Richardson,
Eddie, Sophia, and Etalia Esquivel; and three sisters: Glenda Monk of Climax, Barbara
Rich of Sophia, and Shirley Fields of Climax.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two of his siblings: Sandra
Henley and Frankie Richardson.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 30, 2021, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at
First Baptist Church, 100 North Main Street, Randleman. The funeral service will be at
11:00 am, with Rev. Chris Heppding, and Danny Richardson officiating. Burial will be at
Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, with the Randolph County Honor Guard providing
military honors.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to All Generations, especially Ms.
Jewel Higdon and Ms. Elizabeth Key, for the exceptional care given to Jim and his
family.
