Lewis Wayne Brady, age 87, of Asheboro passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Wayne was born May 25, 1933 the son of Ernest and Viola Brady. He was a native of Randolph County and a veteran of the US Army. Wayne, a graduate of Bennett High School, also attended Elon College. He was a member of Hopewell Friends Meeting. Wayne started his own car business in 1964, was owner and operator of Brady Dodge since 1968, later changing the name to Brady Car and Truck Center. He was an avid golfer and member of Pinewood Country Club. He was active in the community serving on various boards including Randolph Communications for 24 years.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by a sister, Eloise Simmons and son-in-law, Keith Sawyer.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Myra Williams Brady; daughter: Rhonda Brady Sawyer of McLeansville; sons: Kevin Brady of Asheboro, Ken Brady and his wife, Scarlet of Asheboro; grandson, Brandon (Emily) Sawyer of Harrisburg ; two great grandchildren: Cooper and Logan Sawyer; brothers: Lynden Brady, Leon Brady, Dwight Brady and Michael (Lois) Brady all of Bennett, Sam Brady of Goldsboro, Gilbert (Ann) Brady and Steve (Iva) Brady all of Asheboro; sister: Janice (Roy) Allen of Asheboro; several nieces and nephews and a host of business associates and friends.
Mr. Brady will lie in repose Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we ask everyone to please wear a mask and practice social distancing within the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Hopewell Friends Meeting, 2244 Hopewell Friends Road, Asheboro with Pastor Andy Garner and Rev. Michael Fulp officiating. Burial will follow in the Meeting Cemetery.
