Elizabeth "Libby" Rose Marshall Clapp

Elizabeth Rose Marshall Clapp, age 80, of Asheboro passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center. Ms. Clapp was born in Mt. Airy, NC on July 19, 1940 to Myron "Mike" and Stella Key Marshall. She became an LPN in April 1960 and was an Administrator with Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home. She was a member of the First E&R United Church of Christ in Asheboro. In addition to her parents, Libby was preceded in death by her siblings, Bobby Marshall, Peggy Stanley, Polly Key, and Norma Koontz. Libby was an avid bowler. She enjoyed playing cards, slots, and blackjack. Libby was an independent spirit and always a giving lady, even until the very end. In 2013 she registered with the Anatomy Gift Register Whole Body Donation in Hanover, MD. The family would like to express a special thank you to her caregivers, Katy Buffington, Esther Hooker, Gretchen Stephens, Destini Sweatt, and Sarah Gatlin. Also, a very special thanks to her niece, Sandy Key, and her lifetime friend, Ann Trogdon. She is survived by her children, Eric Clapp, Donna Crisco (Jeff), Denise Campbell, Keith Clapp, and Kevin Clapp (Lynn); 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and her former husband, Don Clapp. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
