Fred Velpo Allmon, Sr. 81, of Asheboro, NC passed away on December 30, 2020 at Woodland Hill Center of Asheboro.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private service for family only will be held with Rev. Joe Edwards officiating.
Fred was born in Randolph County to Wilma and Thad Allmon on July 27, 1939. He drove a spreader truck for over 40 years, retiring from Southern States of Asheboro in 2006. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also also enjoyed collecting and driving older vehicles.
Fred is survived by his four children, Maurice Maness of Georgia, Jennifer Stiltner of Asheboro, Brent Allmon (Kristin) of Burnsville, NC and Shana Allmon (Will) of Asheboro. His four siblings James Allmon of Asheboro, Billy Allmon (Betty) of Asheboro, Johnny Allmon (Ruby) of Asheboro and Betty Allmon (Kermit) of Asheboro. His ten grandchildren Justin, Jayden and Jilliann Stiltner of Asheboro, Noah Allmon of Burnsville, NC Davanie and Zaiden Lineberry of Asheboro, Elijah Peak, Kenleigh and Abel East of Asheboro, and Elijah Allmon of Asheboro. Also, his great granddaughter Paislee Binkley of Asheboro.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Fred Allmon, Jr., his three brothers Frank, LeeRoy and Bobby Allmon.
The family would also like to thank the staff of Woodland Hill and Theresa for taking such good care of Fred and the love they showed him.
