Roy Lester Auman, age 77, of Asheboro died Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Randolph Hospice House.
Mr. Auman was born December 11, 1942 in Seagrove to Roy and Lillian Auman.
Mr. Auman was a graduate of Seagrove High School and retired from Energizer. He later worked at Wal-Mart after his retirement. Mr. Auman loved bowling and was instrumental in establishing bowling alley leagues as well as teaching and coaching children in the sport. He also enjoyed NASCAR. In addition to his parents, Mr. Auman was preceded in death by son, Jeff Auman, brothers, George and Arthur Auman, sisters, Glenda Lilly and Mary Auman.
He is survived by daughter, Crystal Auman of Asheboro; step-daughters, Bonnie Bonkemeyer and husband Rick of Asheboro, Tena Ritter and husband Dwight of Erect, Kathy Ester of Asheboro; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Marlene Copeland of Vanceboro, Norma Williamson of Seagrove; sister-in-law, Mary Auman of Brevard, NC.
The family will receive friends Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 1:00-1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. A memorial serrvice will follow at 2:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Pierce officiating.
