Mary Lou Swaney Perry, age 82, of Asheboro passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Carriage House Assisted Living in Greensboro.
Mrs. Perry was born in Asheboro on March 14, 1938 to Numie Cicero and Nancy Elma McDowell Swaney. She was a member of Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Dempsey Lyndon Perry, and 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Mary Lou was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her door was always open for others. Mary Lou liked to quilt and can vegetables.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Perry (David Smith) of Asheboro; son, Jeff Perry (Darlene) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Isaac Perry (Liesel) of Asheboro, Rachelle Clark (Dustin) of Randleman, Preston Smith (Katie) of Asheboro, Cody Perry of Winston-Salem, and Jordan Perry Craig (Hunter) of Belews Creek; great grandchildren, twins Braxton and Ayla, Makenzie, Kaylee, Emmet, Cordelia, and Kylie Brooke; sister, Faye Tyndall (Jesse) of Georgia; and brothers, John David "J.D." Swaney (Sue) of Florida, and James Swaney (Judy) of Alabama.
Mrs. Perry's body will lie in repose on Friday, October 9, 2020 from 1:00-2:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. A graveside service will follow on Friday at 3:00 pm at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Business North in Asheboro with Pastor Steve McSwain officiating and Evangelist Steve Jacobs officiating.
