Catherine G. Wright

ASHEBORO--Mary Catherine Greene Wright, age 50, of Asheboro passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Duke University Hospital. Mrs. Wright was born in Troy, NC on June 19, 1970 to James Arnold and Mary Brown Greene. She was a Special Education Teacher for elementary and middle school students and formerly taught at Farmer Elementary School, Southmont Elementary School, and several other schools in the Randolph County School System. She was previously employed with the Anson County School System. Catherine loved to teach, especially her elementary school students. She enjoyed reading, flowers, and arts and crafts. Catherine was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband, Travis A. Wright; mother, Mary Greene of Troy; sister, Jeanne Greene of Troy; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Bobby and Louise Dockery of Valdese; sister-in-law, Brandi Dockery of Smithfield; her K-9 companion, Coco, and her feline friend, Mollie. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 12:00-1:45 pm at Love Joy United Methodist Church, 1137 Substation Road in Troy. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 2:00 pm at Love Joy United Methodist Church with Rev. Justin Wells, Rev. Ron Scott and Rev. Marty Grainger officiating.
