Dorothy Pyrtle "Dot" Lyndon, age 90, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Wellmore of Tega Cay in Fort Mill, SC.
Mrs. Lyndon was born in Forsyth County on January 7, 1930 to Dillard Reid and Grace Alma Sheppard Pyrtle. Dot lived most of her life in Asheboro and was the retired owner/operator of Dot's Hair Station. In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Lyndon, daughter-in-law, Jean Lyndon, and 10 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Waddell (Steve) of Charlotte; son, Stephen Lyndon of Ormond Beach, FL; grandchildren, Mikki Weaver, Rainer Lyndon, Haven Lyndon, Adam Waddell (Tiffany), Nicholas Waddell (Adrienne), and Wesley Waddell; great grandchildren, Zee and Routh Weaver, and Ava, Amelia, Cole, and Grey Waddell.
The family would like to express a special thanks to all of the caregivers at Welllmore of Tega Cay and her "sweet mammas" Tracy Crawford and Derris Summerlin for the love and care given to Mrs. Lyndon.
Dot's body will lie in repose on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 11:00 am-4:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 1986 Ether Road in Star with Elder Jack Dawsey officiating.
