Larry Deane Bullard

d. July 5, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Deane Bullard. Larry was born May 9, 1947 to parents Opal McMasters Bullard and Charles Jackson Bullard. He attended Asheboro High School where he enjoyed wrestling and later went on to graduate from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. Larry went on to become an incredible P.E. teacher and coach at several schools. He owned and operated The Appalachian Karate Academy. Larry became a legend in Karate, and has received multiple awards and hundreds of trophies. So many that they filled the den of his Boone home. Larry was very loved and generously gave love to so many. He passed away peacefully on July 5, 2020, at his home in Flowery Branch, Georgia surrounded by his wife and two of his daughters. He leaves behind his amazing wife Jackie Webb Bullard, his first wife, Lora, and their three daughters, Lesley Bullard, Lisha Bullard Morris and her husband Kevin Morris, with Granddaughter Ava Morris and Lora Lee Bullard Moretz and Granddaughter Liberty Moretz and her husband, Zachary Moody. He had one God Grandchild, Mattie Bagby. He also leaves behind stepdaughter, Jessica Duncan Felfoldi, her husband David Nicholas Felfoldi, and grandchildren Fiona Angeline Felfoldi and Finnegan Xavier Felfoldi, his late sister Doris’s husband Wayne Bridgers, nephews Michael, Aaron and wife Capucine and their children Ava and Aidan, Jonathan and his wife Kylene and their children Hazel and Holden, his sister Gail Bullard Price, and her husband Lester Price, nephew Brent Price, niece Amy and her husband Rustin McNeill and their children Emmaline and Owen, his beloved Uncle Gene McMasters and many more. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Doris Bullard Bridgers. Larry Bullard's journey on this earth was full of life, dancing, sports, students, and both his family and karate family. He loved life to the fullest, and lived each day with positivity. He had many pastimes, including skiing, hunting and fishing, and in his younger years acquired his pilot’s license. Larry loved and was loved by so many. Truly a fighter to the very end. It is with a heavy heart we see him go. He was an original, and one of a kind. Due to the coronavirus no public service is planned at this time. Obituary published as a courtesy to the Bullard family.
