Annie Mae Small Robbins, age 94 of Asheboro, passed away on April 15, 2020 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home. Annie Mae was born April 4, 1926 to Ream Harrison and Eunice Pierce Small of the Tabernacle community. Annie Mae was retired from SWRHS where she worked in the cafeteria. Annie Mae was a faithful member of Amity Hills Baptist Church for over 45 years until her health prevented her from attending. She was the church Treasurer for many of those years. Annie Mae (Granny) was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress and cook. She was especially known for her persimmon pudding and fried apple pies. Gardening and quilting were favorite pastimes. She quilted a quilt for each of her children and grandchildren. Annie Mae also enjoyed traveling and cruising with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bowden Robbins, son, Larry Robbins, son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Vanessa Robbins, great granddaughter, Morgan Grant, son-in-law, W.C. Linthicum, brothers and sisters, Lloyd, Lindsay, Clay, and Hoyle Small, Ester Davidson, Kathleen Yow, Ocia McDowell, and Kate Skeen. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Charlie) Foster of Denton and Janice Linthicum of Randleman; son, Kenny (Sheila) Robbins of Asheboro; daughter-in-law, Kinza Robbins of Robbins; grandchildren, Trevor (Kristie) Foster of Denton, Annette (Kevin) Bouchard of Athol, Mass, Jason (Jamie) Robbins of Asheboro, Amanda (Jonathan) Hamilton of Asheboro, Sharon (Jesse) Sharpe of Asheboro, Lisa (Michael) Stanley of Lexington, Christian Clark of Randleman, Jonathan (Felicia) Linthicum of Sophia, Kim (Ashley) Robbins of Robbins, Chad Robbins and Helen of Denton, Brian Robbins and LaShawn of Seagrove, and Heather Grant and Noah of Asheboro; 18 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Alene Gallimore of Lexington and Marie Freeman of Randleman; and brother, Everette (Buck) Small of Asheboro. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home for their loving care for Annie Mae. Mrs. Robbins' body will lie in state at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro on Saturday, April 18, 2020 from 1:00-5:00 pm. A private service will be held. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memorials Processing, Memphis, TN 38105-9959, www.stjude.org/memorial.
