Annie Bell Allred Henson, age 95 went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, February 28th, 2020 at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro, NC.
Mrs. Henson was born February 9th, 1925 to the late Arnold (Mac) McCray Allred and Maude Wray Allred and grew up in the Worthville community in North Carolina. She was married to Brooks Houtchings and Paul Pugh in her early years. She worked in the Cotton Mills in Worthville and Klopman Mills in Asheboro. She later moved to Columbia, South Carolina and lived there for 40 years with her late husband, Leslie Leroy Henson. She and her husband were church custodians for Eau Claire Baptist Church for many years. She was a member of the Kings Daughters, and XYZ club, and the "What ya doing club" and many other organizations. She was a very outgoing person and participated in all activities for Senior Citizens. She was very witty and crafty at their gatherings and loved to pick and cut up. She was better known for her cooking skills and always had a houseful at her dinners. She was a member of the Love of God Ministries in Seagrove, North Carolina under the Pastor Thurman Williams. She attended Worthville Baptist Church with the Pastor Jr. Dawkins. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mack and Maude Allred; her brothers: Arnold Allred, Thomas Allred and Leroy Allred; sister: Marie Bovindik and her husband: Leslie Leroy Henson.
Surviving are her son: Michael Houtchings and his wife Debbie of Eastover, SC; daughter: Mary Paula Williams of Asheboro, NC; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; sister: Carletta Craven of Vass, NC; brother: Ronald Allred of Pleasant Garden.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 1:00 - 1:45 PM at Worthville Baptist Church, 1053 Castle Rock Road, Randleman, NC, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Junior Dawkins officiating.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 11:00 am at Crescent Hills Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC, 29204.
