Temple Chitwood Law, age 86, joined the love of her life James Law to walk the streets of gold.
She is rejoicing with her mother and father, Harve and Annie Ayers Chitwood, her best friend and beloved husband of 57 years, her sister, Doris, and her two brothers, Tootie and Raymond Chitwood, and a niece, Judy Chitwood.
Temple grew up on a farm in Glade Hill in Franklin County, Virginia and spent her life there until she married. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a gardener as long as her health permitted. Temple made her corner of the world a beautiful place and she cherished every celebration and welcomed every new day. Her life was simple and sweet in every possible way. Temple is now in Heaven's garden where she can watch over her precious family and the beautiful dogwoods, flowers, birds, and her pets that she loved so much.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Marshall Law, his children, and grandchildren; daughter, Mary Ann York and husband Russell and their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; daughter, Gay Trogdon and her daughter Elizabeth, and her grandchildren; son, Donald Law and his children and grandchildren; former daughter-in-law, Pat Law; nephew, Rickey Chitwood and wife Kim and their children; cousins; and her church family at Central Falls Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 12:45-1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. A celebration of her life will be held at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel on Friday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gerald Hussey officiating. Temple will be cremated, and at a later date, will join James in Chitwood Cemetery in Glade Hill, Virginia.
Planting a flower or a tree in her memory would be much welcomed or memorials may be made to Central Falls Baptist Church, 1332 Old Liberty Road, Asheboro, NC 27203.
Temple's motto was "Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today or it might be too late."
