Carol Janet Perdue Hawkins

Carol Janet Perdue Hawkins, age 82, of Asheboro was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. Carol was born October 15, 1937 in Kernersville to Paul and Margaret Perdue. She was a member of First Assembly of God and was retired from CUOC after 16 years of service. Grandma, as she was affectionately called by many, was a very kind, giving and compassionate woman who always put others first. She treated everyone with unconditional love and understanding. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Perdue, granddaughters, Shannon and Sherry Hawkins and daughter-in-law, Sherry G. Hawkins. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, David Stafford Hawkins; children, David Hawkins, Jr., Chris Hawkins (Christie), Maridee Kivett (Bobby), Michelle Phelps; grandchildren, Stephanie Young (Scott), Shaun Hawkins, Shane Hawkins, Aaron Hawkins, Abigail Canipe (Daniel), Justin Kivett (Sarah), Travis Kivett (Shelly), Courtney Caudill (Joel), Lauren Hayden (Dan), Brittany Etheridge (Jared), Andrew Phelps, Kelsey Phelps, Sydney Phelps; great grandchildren, Paige Hawkins, Marshall Hawkins, Stetson Hawkins, Madelyn Kivett, Rebekah Kivett, Aubrianna Kivett, Emma Kivett, Alexa Kivett, Addison Kivett, John Kivett, Isabella Kivett, Ezra Etheridge, Jude Etheridge and baby boy Hayden; siblings, Kay Mixon (Tommy), Paul Perdue (Diana) , Linda Kester (Larry). The family will receive friends Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 pm at First Assembly of God, 909 Meadowbrook Road, Asheboro with Pastor Kim Snyder officiating.
