Fannie Elizabeth Lovell Waugh, age 101, formerly of Millboro passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Elmcroft of Asheboro.
Mrs. Waugh was born in Stokes County, NC on February 28, 1918 to Percy and Hester Campbell Lovell. She was retired from Commonwealth Hosiery in Randleman. Fannie joined Bethany United Methodist Church as a teenager and during her tenure she served in many capacities, including serving as former President of the United Methodist Women and being a member of the choir. She served in the Worthville Chapter of the VFW and was a member of the Community Flower Club. In addition to her parents, Fannie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Waugh, daughter, Winnie Marlene Waugh, and sisters, Mary Bell Martin and Jessie Groce.
She is survived by her sons, Tommy Waugh and wife Rachel of Asheboro and Richard "Dickie" Waugh II and wife Linda of Asheboro; daughter, Penny Johnson and husband Barry of Liberty; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street in Randleman. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany United Methodist Church, 3650 Bethany Church Road in Franklinville with Rev. Jeremiah Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
