Antoinette "Annette" Gianfala Conley, age 96, of Asheboro passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home.
Mrs. Conley was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 24, 1923 to Michael and Margaret Alestra Gianfala. Antoinette was retired from Western Electric. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where she active in working on "The Giving Tree." She was active with the Randolph County Senior Adults Association, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and The Salt Box. Antoinette was a very giving lady, contributing to many charities. She loved cooking and baking traditional Italian food. She loved to play Bingo at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home and was an avid bowler. In addition to her parents, Antoinette was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Conley, sister, Mary Conner, and brother, James Gianfala.
She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Brown of New London and Francine Litter of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, James A. Pavlik and wife Janine of Sterling, VA, Walter Pavlik II and wife Amber of High Point, Francie C. Yates and husband John W. Yates of Edgewood, MD, Francis M. Litter and wife Jennifer Ann of Asheboro, Teresa B. Highfill and husband William of Charlotte, Jeff Brown and partner John McJunkin of Huntersville, and David Brown of New London; 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 512 West Wainman Avenue in Asheboro with Father Louis Canino, OSM officiating. Entombment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro.
