Sharon Ann "Sheri" Bown, age 68, of High Point passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Adams Farm Living and Rehab.
Ms. Bown was born in Portland, OR on June 14, 1951 to Richard "Dick" Bown and Evelyn Constance Ferguson Bown and lived her early years in Portland, Oregon. Sheri moved to North Carolina in the early-90s.
Sheri was a female pioneer in the motorsports industry. Raised in a racing family, Sheri raced in the Northwest Late Model Series in the 80s. She had a huge entrepreneurial spirit starting many businesses, including a satellite location for the family's wrecking yard business, a racing souvenir business, and a Crew School for those wanting to break into the racing industry. She also drove trucks, earned her real estate license and most recently worked for the Guilford County School System.
She loved nothing more than spending time with her daughter Allison Christianson and grandson Ryan Christianson. She found the most joy spending many weekends at the ball field watching Ryan play. She loved to travel with them, whether on a cruise or a snowboarding adventure. Her family and friends will remember her as a selfless, kind, wonderful listener who loved a competitive game of Pinochle.
She is survived by her daughter, Allison Christianson of Greensboro, NC, grandson Ryan Christianson of Greensboro, father Richard "Dick" Bown of Asheboro, brothers Chuck Bown (Debbie) of Asheboro, and Jim Bown (Courtney) of Asheboro. Sheri was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Evelyn Bown.
