Gurney “Allen” Stewart, Jr., age 75, of Randleman died Friday, January 24, 2020 at Woodland Hill Center, Asheboro. Mr. Stewart was born June 3, 1944 in Reidsville, NC the son of Gurney Allen and Aileen Marlow Stewart, Sr. Allen worked for the City of Greensboro and then drove a truck for Carolina Block from which he retired after 25 years of service. He liked racing and watching NASCAR in his early years. Allen enjoyed traveling to the beach to go fishing. In addition to his parents, Allen is preceded in death by his wife, Polly Ann Dail Stewart; and daughter, Velisa Stewart. He is survived by son, Michael Stewart and Autumn of Greensboro; daughter, Christy Stewart Marsh and Jeff of Randleman; grandchildren, Casey Stewart Thorne and Brandon, Brooke Turner, Meredith Stewart, Alexis Werner, Makayla Greene, Tyler Kearns, Dylan Kearns; great grandchild, Judah Throne; sister, Peggy (Tony) Barbaris of Gainesville, GA; and his canine companion, Dalilah. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Barney Yaskiewicz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Allen’s honor to Alzheimer’s Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 4600 Park Rd., Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209, www.alz.org/northcarolina
