Alpha Jean Stewart Cagle, age 81, of Denton passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Alpine Heath & Rehabilitation in Asheboro.
Mrs. Cagle was born in Lexington, KY on December 10, 1938 to David Marcus and Mina Martin Stewart. She was retired from Klaussner Furniture and was a member of Liberty Fellowship Church in Denton. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne Cagle, grandson, Justin Holt Bunting, and 11 siblings. Jean was a loving, caring, Christian woman who always had her eyes set on God and is at peace and now with her Heavenly Father. Jean was a warrior for getting people to know the Lord.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Bunting (Barry) of Asheboro, Jerry Wayne Cagle II (Shannon) of Cottage Grove, MN and Wanda Sue Cagle of Denton; grandchildren, Aaron Bunting (Hillary), Jeremy Hout (Brittany), Amanda Howell, Jenna Cagle, Noah Cagle, Beth Bradshaw (Joe); great grandchildren, Seeley and Holden Hout, Deeanna Rife, Liam Howell and Finley Howell, Dominic, Austen, and Payton Bradshaw.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 23, 2019 from 12:30-1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro and other times at the home of Lisa and Barry Bunting, 2257 Davidson Road in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Monday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jamie Draughn, Rev. Gary Mason, and Rev. Mark Wilburn officiating. Burial will be held in Randolph Memorial Park.
