Donald Edward "Don" Eisinger

Donald Edward “Don” Eisinger, age 78, of Asheboro passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.

Mr. Eisinger was born September 10, 1941 the son of Alfred T. Eisinger and Ruby Phillips Eisinger. 

Mr. Eisinger was born in Washington, DC and received an associate degree from Capital College.  Don worked with the Border Patrol in Brownsville, TX and as a typewriter repairman for IBM. He worked with the Library of Congress for over 50 years and as a police officer for the City of District Heights. Don and his wife, Karen faithfully served many churches over the years, including Largo Community Church in Maryland and St. Andrews United Church of Christ in Lexington.  Don loved asking his grandchildren, "What should I be when I grow up?".  He was a very skilled man who enjoyed being busy doing many things.  His love for Christ showed in the ways he helped the community and those in need.

In addition to his parents; Don was predeceased in death by his son-in-law: Sherman Douglass and granddaughter: Jenna; brother: Robert Eisinger.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Karen Rich Lyman Eisinger; children: Anthony "Tony" Lyman and wife Diane of Wilmington, NC, Denise Lyman Piner and husband, Ray of Wilmington, NC, Patricia Eisinger Douglass of Port Republic, MD, Dianne Lyman Murphy and husband Kelly of Gibsonville, NC and Karen Eisinger Codd and husband Mike of Arnold, MD; grandchildren; Valerie, Gary, Marissa, Clint, Billy, Rachael, Christine, Ashley, Erin, Aaron, Ryan, Jordan, Heather, Paige, Zachary, JC and Josh;  20 great grandchildren; brother: Roger Eisinger and his wife Marty of VA and numerous extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Giles Chapel United Methodist Church, 1627 Giles Chapel Rd. Asheboro, NC.  A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Mike Lee officiating.
