Mary Sue Carrico Moody, age 91, of Asheboro passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the home of her son.

Ms. Moody was born in Grayson County, VA on September 12, 1927 to William Bayard and Nannie Kate Roberts Carrico. She was formerly employed with B.C. Moore's and Lassiter Sportswear. Mary was of the Baptist faith and coordinated Sunday School and singings at the Asheboro Summit Apartments. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Scottie Coble and brothers, William "Bill" Carrico and Wiley Gene Carrico. Mary enjoyed doing word search puzzles and reading her Bible.

She is survived by her son, Larry Gene Cole and wife Gwen of Asheboro; daughters, Shirley Lowe Sharpe and husband Ron of Sophia and Dianne Stancil and fiancé Cecil of Lake Royal; grandchildren, Shane Lowe, Jeremy Chase Cole and wife Kyria, Brittney Danielle Lambert and husband Nathan, Farrah Hardy and husband Justin, Kyle Phillip Carter and wife Nicole, Christopher Carter, Patrick Register, Ashley Stancil, Mindy Roger, and Spencer Sharpe; great grandchildren, Trevor Lowe, Brandon Lowe, Jr., Krista McIe, Hayden Hardy, Emma Hardy, Phillip Carter, Grayce Carter, Blakeleigh Carter, Brecken Carter, Chase Eugene Cole, Kenna Sue Cole, Brantley Jase Cole, Devin Stancil, Emma Grace Register, Jordan Register, Madison Stancil, Mylee Stancil, Presley Roger, and Chandler Roger; brother, Roger Carrico of Asheboro; sisters, Lelia Stutts of Jackson Springs and Margaret Carrico of Winston-Salem; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. View Independent Methodist Church, 1530 Mt. View Church Rd., Asheboro with Rev. Clint Kearns officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
