Obituary of Frank Martin Pugh
Frank Martin Pugh, age 74, of Asheboro passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Pugh was born in Corinth, MS to Fred Martin and Naomi Dillon Pugh. Frank was a graduate of the University of Tennessee where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering. He was formerly employed with General Electric, Black & Decker, and retired from Diebold, Inc. Frank loved the Lord and was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he was a member of the Handbell Choir, an elder, a member of the Disciples Sunday School class, a faithful member of the Wednesday night Praise and Worship Service and a real prayer warrior. He was a charter member of Community Bible Study and was only absent one time in twenty years until his current illness. Frank was an avid supporter of the University of Tennessee Volunteers. He enjoyed hiking on the Appalachian Trail, playing the guitar and spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betsy” Fleming Pugh; daughter, Adrian Pugh Pettitt of Charlottesville, VA; son, Riley Alan Pugh of Reidsville, NC; stepson, George Franklin Henne of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Finley Pettitt, Hayden Pettitt, Zachary Pugh, Madison Pugh, Daphne Henne, Ivana Akins and Jarod Henne; sister, Janice Craft of Oakridge, TN; and brother, Michael Pugh of Decatur, GA.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 420 West Walker Ave., Asheboro with the Rev. Brian Gawf officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
