Obituary of Bobby Clayton Martin

Bobby Clayton Martin, age 79 of Asheboro passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at High Point Medical Center.

Mr. Martin was born in Wilkes County, NC on September 17, 1939 to James Worth and Florine Lovette Martin. Bobby was a good Christian man and was a member of Seagrove Christian Church. Bobby was formerly employed as a construction materials salesman and later as a salesman for Yates Country Ham. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his great great grandson, Keegan Tyler McDonald, brother, Bruce, and sisters, Dorothy, Doris, and Kathy. He was a man of many talents who designed numerous homes. He enjoyed bluegrass music and being outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice Spencer Martin; sons, Terry Martin (Janice) of Seagrove, Rickey Martin (Melissa) of Denton, Jerry Martin (Peggy) of Asheboro, Mickey Martin (Sheri) of Asheboro, and Joey Martin (Heather) of Wickenburg, AZ; 18 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brothers, Jay Martin (Jan) of Boone, Fred Martin (Chris) of Springfield, VA; and sisters, Pat Wyatt (Tommy) of North Wilkesboro, Linda Winebarger (William) of State Road, Jenny Jones (Jerry) of Wilkesboro, twins, Martha Mangalowe (Joe) of Hickory and Mary Butler (John) of Belmont; and extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 11:00 am-12:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. L.D. Pritchard and Rev. Tim Miller officiating. Burial will be held in Randolph Memorial Park.
