Obituary of Dolores Routh

Dolores Lineberry Routh, age 87, of Climax died Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Routh was the daughter of Kathleen Walker Lineberry and L. M. Lineberry. She was a graduate of Grays Chapel School and Asheboro Business College. Mrs. Routh was a co-owner with her husband, of Routh Oil Company, Routh Transportation and Routh Water Service. She was the bookkeeper for her father's company, Lineberry Lumber Company and accountant for Routh Transportation. Dolores was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and organist. She was also a Boy Scout Den Leader for Troop 518, Team Mom for the Little League at Grays Chapel School, and was a Charter Member of Zooland AACA 50+ years. Mrs. Routh was on the Climax Volunteer Fire Department and an Auxiliary Ladies Member. She was a member of the Randolph County Cattleman Association and served on the Grays Chapel School PTA. Her passion was baking pies weekly for her family and she was an avid bird lover. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Routh was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, V. Odell Routh and an infant daughter.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Braswell and husband Frank of Concord, Kristie DeSota and husband John of Climax; sons, Bradley Odell Routh and wife Christy of Climax, Eric Routh and wife Jan of Climax; grandchildren, Frank Braswell, III, Amber Bunnell, Tyler Routh, Erica Mena, Patrick DeSota and Dylan Routh; beloved dog, Rex; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Brenda Patterson of Greensboro.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Pastor Edward J. Arroyo and Rev. Jeremiah Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the burial.
