Hilda Marie Kennedy Currin, age 67, of Sophia died Monday, August 20, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Currin was born in Moore County, NC on August 13, 1951 to Jonah and Betty Beal Kennedy.  She was formerly employed with Midstate Plastics of Seagrove.  Hilda was a dedicated and active member of Crestview Wesleyan Church and she loved her church family.  She is preceded in death by her daughter Angela Denise Currin and her father.  Hilda was a 12-year cancer survivor and was active in Relay for Life.  Hilda was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, and loving grandmother.  She cared for all her children and took great joy in caring for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years: Kinchum Currin; two daughters: Kimberly Dawn Currin of Asheboro, NC and Melissa C. Hunt of Randleman, NC; son: Chad Marcus Currin of Archdale, NC; mother and her husband: Betty and Herbert Williamson of Seagrove, NC; sister and her husband: Joyce and A.L. Needham of Seagrove, NC; grandchildren: Makayla, Makenna, Malachi Hunt and Khloe Currin; step-brother: Harold Williamson; step-sisters: Barbara Rouse, Louise Hatcher, Kathy Little, Cynthia Latham, Audrey Gatlin, and Sharon Moran. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave. Asheboro, NC. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Crestview Wesleyan Church, 180 Crestview Church Rd., Asheboro with Pastor Jerry Johnson, Rev. Reggie Robbins and Dr. Peter Ennever officiating.  Burial will follow in Asbury Baptist Church Cemetery, Seagrove.
