Obituary of Lucille Saunders
Mamie Lucille Loflin Saunders, age 80, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House.
Mrs. Saunders was born in Randolph County on January 16, 1938 to Nathan and Mamie Dorsett Loflin. Lucille was a dedicated mother. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Oskar Saunders, son, Bill Saunders, grandson, Phillip Chavez, son-in-law, Steve Gum, sister, Louise Chriscoe, and brothers, Frank and Charles Loflin.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Saunders of Asheboro and Darryl Saunders and wife Mitzi of Asheboro; daughters, Linda Simmons and husband Ralph of Sophia and Rose Gum of Readyville, TN; grandchildren, Daryn Saunders and wife Courtney, Chad Saunders and wife Amber, Tommy Williamson, Bradley Williamson, Andres Chavez, Kayla Chavez, Katelyn Gum, and Ashley Gum; great grandchildren, Charleigh, Zoey, Chloe, Cassie, and Valerie Saunders, Zeth, Cole, and Amara Williamson; brothers, Clinton Loflin of Clayton, Joseph Loflin of Asheboro, and Rick Loflin of New London.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Freeman officiating. Entombment will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
