Obituary of Lloyd Taylor
Lloyd Elton Taylor, Jr., age 81, of Randleman died Monday, May 21, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mr. Taylor was born April 28, 1937 the son of Lloyd and Virginia Hess Taylor.Lloyd was a native of Charleston, W. Va. and served in the US Airforce, as Staff Sgt. for eight and a half years. He was the division manager over 3 states for UPS for 8 years and retired from the Bulk Mail Center in Greensboro with 22 years of service. Lloyd loved Providence Grove athletics, fishing and Duke basketball. He was a wonderful loving husband, father and grandfather. Lloyd gave of himself when his family needed him regardless of what it required. In addition to his parents, Lloyd is preceded in death by his sisters, Doris Butler and Virginia Iris McLaughlin.
He is survived by his wife: Geneva Boardman Taylor of the home; daughter: Sherri Taylor Neal (Larry) of Oak Ridge; sons: Eric Taylor (Mandy) of Randleman, Phillip Lane Taylor (Cindy) of Chula Vista, CA., Lloyd Elton "Skip" Taylor, III (Jenny) of Flat Rock and Charles Curtis Taylor (Linda) of Archdale; grandchildren: Taylor Nicole Neal Groves (Alden) of Charlottesville, Va ., Evan Sloan Taylor and Anna Grace Taylor of Randleman, Michael Taylor of Greensboro, and Charles Taylor, Jr. of St. Louis, MO.; sisters: Ruth Skiles and Lois Dawson both of Charleston, W. VA.; and special friends, Wayne, Earl and Doug, known as the "Fearsome Foursome" in golfing.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 27, 2018 from 1:30-2:30 pm at Faith Temple Baptist Church, 3075 Mack Lineberry Road, Franklinville, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 with Dr. Buddy Smith and grandson Alden Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Randolph County Honor Guard providing military rites.
