Elizabeth Phillips

Elizabeth Abernathy Phillips, age 97, of Asheboro died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home. Mrs. Phillips was a lifelong resident of Asheboro, living in the Cedar Falls community and was retired from General Electric. She was a member of Cedar Falls United Methodist Church. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Phillips, Jr. She is survived by her son, Steve and wife Arlene Haigler Phillips of Asheboro; granddaughter, Amy and husband Craig Hagler of High Point, great grandsons, Austin and Matthew Hagler. The family will receive friends Friday, July 17, 2015 from 9:30-10:30 AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM at Cedar Falls United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1119 Loflin Pond Rd., Asheboro with Rev. Yvonne Hechler officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Cross Road Retirement Community, Clapps Nursing Home and Hospice of Randolph for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Phillips during the past years. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Cedar Falls United Methodist Church, 1119 Loflin Pond Rd., Asheboro, NC 27203.
