Michael T. Coggins, age 73, of Troy died Monday, February 12, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Coggins was born February 24, 1944 in Troy, NC the son of the late Tom Frank Coggins and Ruby Aileen Richardson Coggins. He served in the United States Army.

He was a machine set-up technician and was employed by Jordan Lumber, North Carolina Lumber and retired from Megawood, for a combined total of 44 years.

He is survived by his wife: Shelia Hunsucker Coggins of Troy; one son: Brad A Coggins and wife Michelle of Rockingham, NC; one sister: Sharon Thompson and husband Earl of Troy, NC;  one granddaughter: Ashton Coggins of Rockingham, NC; one grandson: Brayden M. Coggins of Rockingham, NC; Mother in Law: Shirley Hunsucker of Mt. Gilead, NC; two nieces, Kea Freeman and Amy Hill; and one nephew, Jamie Thompson. He was predeceased by his brother, Larry Coggins.

Mike was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. He had a pilot's license and had been a sky diver. He was a former member of Aviation Search and Rescue.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 1:30 - 2:45 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. James Brigman officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Troy.
