Obituary of Frank Clark
Frank Clark, 85, of Central Avenue, Siler City died Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mr. Clark was born in Chatham County on July 21, 1932 the son of Vet and Mary (Newlin) Clark.
Frank was an active member of First Baptist Church of Siler City where he had served as a deacon, was a member of the Murray Andrew Sunday School Class and served as its treasurer, and a member of the Brotherhood. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and he retired in 1995 from Southland Life Insurance, which later became Life of Georgia. After retirement from the insurance business, he served for 21 years as a substitute teacher at Jordan Matthews High School. In April of 2017 he was recognized with an appreciation celebration for his dedication and service to the school and students. Frank was an avid reader, Carolina Tar Heel fan and enjoyed working in his yard. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed attending and helping coach their sports events.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul, Ben and Jerome Clark; sisters, Eunice Phillips, Josephine Hinshaw, Alma Teague and Kathleen York.He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Mary Lois (Cooper) Clark; two daughters: Pamela Clark Phillips of Siler City and Jennifer Clark Smith and husband, Ken of Ramseur; one sister, Frances C. Allen of Elon; two brothers: Clyde Clark of Siler City and Ralph Clark of Burlington;granddaughter, Charity Phillips White and husband, Jason of Siler City; grandson, Justin Phillips of Siler City; great-grandchildren, Cannon and Anniston White of Siler City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special "Thank You" to Dr. Yan Feng of the Cone Cancer Center and staff on 3 West of wesley Long Hospital.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 314 N. 2nd Ave., Siler City, NC. A memorial service will follow Wednesday at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Capehart and Rev. Jim Wall officiating.
Inurnment will be in Loves Creek Baptist Cemetery with military rites by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
