Zeola Trotter

Julia Zeola Gallimore Trotter, age 99, of Denton died Friday, January 19, 2018 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home.

Mrs. Trotter was born February 25, 1918 in Randolph County to Jesse and Eugenia Surratt Gallimore.

She was a member of Pleasant Union Christian Church where she was active in the music program. Mrs. Trotter was a homemaker and a member and past president of the Home Demonstration Club of Farmer. Mrs. Trotter enjoyed gardening and working with flowers. In her retirement years she worked for Bobby's Florist where she enjoyed meeting and working with the customers. Mrs. Trotter was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Trotter was preceded in death by her husband William Ashley Trotter, son, Jerry Don Trotter Sr., five brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by daughters, Linda Trotter Younts and husband Paul of Manning, SC, Ellen Trotter Spencer and husband Carlee of Denton; daughter-in-law, Carol Nance Trotter of Asheboro; grandchildren, Lena Younts Meredith and husband Michael of Greenwood, SC, Baxter Paul Younts III and wife Elizabeth of Myrtle Beach, SC, Mandy T. Hanes and husband Freddie of Asheboro, Donia T. Smith of Asheboro, Jerry Don Trotter, Jr. (Kristy) of Asheboro; 13 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 11:00 - 11:45 AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Phaup and Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
