Zell Walen Thompson

Zell Walen Thompson, age 95, of Lovejoy Rd., Troy died Saturday, March 13, 2010 at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital, Troy. Mr. Thompson was born November 10, 1914 in Troy, NC, the son of Walter and Maudie (Morris) Thompson. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Troy Lumber Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Williams Thompson. He is survived by two daughters: Shirley Jones of Greensboro, Pat Kearns of Troy, and one son: Bobby Thompson of Troy; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Troy; other times at the home of Bobby Thompson, 192 Roslyn Road, Troy and Pat Kearns of 718 Carson Street, Troy. The funeral will be Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home with Rev. James Brewer officiating. Burial will be in the Lovejoy United Methodist Church Cemetery, Troy.
