Worth Richardson, 88, died Sunday, December 14, 2014 surrounded by loved ones at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro, North Carolina.
Worth was born February 28, 1926 and was a lifelong resident of Randolph County. He graduated from Randleman High School in 1944. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country in World War II where he saw action in the Pacific. He was a member of Flint Hill Community Church and was owner of R. & W. Fashion in Sophia.
Worth was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Ruby Smith Richardson, parents, Clyde and Lois Canoy Richardson of Sophia, and sister Mary Richardson Burgess of Asheboro.
He is survived by his sister, Janie R. Patterson of Eden, NC, caregiver and niece Benita Hurley and her husband A.C, and numerous other cherished nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 12:30-1:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. A graveside service with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow at 2:00 PM at Randolph Memorial Park with Rev. Mike Adams officiating.
