Worth Brower Pugh, age 82, formerly of Hall Rd., Franklinville, died Monday, February 17, 2014 at Five Oaks Manor, Concord.
Mr. Pugh was born July 17, 1931 in Franklinville to Worth and Vallie Pugh. He was an Air Force veteran, was retired from Union Carbide and was a longtime member of Grays Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pugh was preceded in death by his wife, Goulda Strider Pugh and brother, James Pugh.
He is survived by his daughter, Diana Proffit and husband Ken of Boone; son, Denny Pugh and wife Barbara of Greensboro; grandchildren, Karen Brauns and husband Ryan of Concord, Kim Ragan and husband Andy of Concord, Barbara Austin and husband Dale of Mebane, James Green and wife Holly of Linville.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church, 5056 N.C. Hwy 22 North, Franklinville. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Nathan Snider officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220.
