W.E. was a native of Randolph County and was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He was retired from General Electric and was owner/operator of Seagrove Muffler and Tire. He was preceded in death by his father, Worth Elmer Callicutt, Sr. W.E. lived his life with complete and total passion; a passion for God, a passion for family, a passion for friends, and a passion for peppermint candy. He believed the old saying that a stranger is just a friend you haven't yet met. He ended every conversation with his family with an "I Love You", and he didn't just say it you knew he really meant it. W.E. was a genuine person. Always saying what he thought and doing what he said. He loved watching birds, especially purple martins. He truly had a big heart. Always willing to give or listen to anyone and at any time. Conversations with W.E. never had time limits. He would listen and talk, well mostly talk, so long as someone would listen. W.E. loved hunting, fishing and racing fast cars. For the Callicutt family we take solace in knowing that know one ever loved God and stuck to his conviction more than W.E. We will see him one day in heaven.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Faye Nichols Callicutt of the home; son, Rodney Callicutt of Asheboro, NC; daughters, Renee Clanton and her husband Trey of High Point, NC and Chandra Callicutt of Raleigh, NC; granddaughter, Rachel Elizabeth Clanton of High Point, NC; mother, Vessie Cole Callicutt of Asheboro, NC and sister, Yvonne Callicutt of Asheboro, NC.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 5, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
