Wilmoth Smith Bowman

Wilmoth Smith "Peggy" Bowman, age 91, of Asheboro died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park. Mrs. Bowman was born in Danbury, NC on April 22, 1923 to Isaac "Bud" and Lilla Ann Shelton Smith. She was formerly employed with Bost Neckwear, Klopman Mills in Ramseur, and Stedman Manufacturing. Peggy was a member of Crestview Wesleyan Church. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband George H. Bowman and her siblings Hubert, Paul, Clayton, Carlis, Doyle, and Lloyd Smith, Kathleen Sharp, Maude Adkins, Hallie Biggs, and Ruth Stewart. She is survived by her son, George H. Bowman and his wife Elaine of Ramseur; sisters, Dorothy Baughn of Mayodan, Sarah Bowser of Madison, and Era Varner of Stoneville. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 11, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crestview Wesleyan Church, 180 Crestview Church Rd., Asheboro, NC 27205 or Faith Christian School, 5449 Brookhaven Road, Ramseur, NC 27316.
